Comprehensive Healthcare Chooses SmartCare to Maximize Care Coordination and Drive Quality Improvement Efforts

treamline Healthcare Solutions announced a new partnership with Comprehensive Healthcare Solutions in Yakima, WA to assist with meeting their overarching strategic plan that includes communicating with third parties, data management and integrating behavioral health and substance abuse disorders with physical health. Streamline Healthcare Solutions (Streamline) delivers web-based software for healthcare organizations to provide and coordinate all service delivery processes.

“Comprehensive Healthcare is a large and complex behavioral health provider with many lines of business. In our evaluation of potential vendors, we found Streamline to have the right combination of out of the box functionality and flexibility to build capabilities for our unique business needs and for the future. Both clinical and back office staff found the product to be an exciting step forward from our existing EHR.” – Rick Weaver, President/CEO, Comprehensive Healthcare.

Comprehensive Healthcare provides an array of behavioral health and substance abuse services in outpatient, inpatient and residential settings in ten Washington counties. The expansive service area ranges from frontier/rural to suburban and includes 21 facilities and over 20,000 patients are served annually. As Comprehensive continues to grow and expand, it is important that they have the ability to “tell their story” through data.

To achieve the ability to “tell their story”, Comprehensive needed a solution that could also increase their capacity to communicate with additional third party sources, standardize and streamline workflows between sites and programs, and maximize the integration of primary and behavioral health care to serve the client as a whole.

Streamline’s SmartCare™ electronic health record’s (EHR) web-based functionality will enable the staff throughout the region to easily access the solution and enter their documentation; resulting in a uniform workflow among various programs. Additionally, any staff (that should encounter network difficulties) will have the ability to access the disconnected solution to enter notes. Once they are back online, their notes will sync with SmartCare; giving staff the confidence to provide quality services to their clients.

SmartCare integrates the entire care process with clinical, practice and medication management, and state specific Medicaid reporting requirements. Integrating this data will allow Comprehensive to report directly out of the database or to utilize the Streamline Data Warehouse.

The Data Warehouse is designed to efficiently maximize reporting of large data over time. In addition to a nightly process that pulls data from SmartCare, the Data Warehouse is architected to allow sourcing of data from any data source. The platform can be used to jump-start creation of an enterprise data warehouse and incorporate information from multiple data sources such as accounting systems, human resources, etc. Combining the ease of entering data along with the robust reporting capabilities, Comprehensive will have the tools available to meet both CMS Meaningful Use (stages 2-3) and MACRA: MIPS & APMs and to “tell their story” through data.

“We are very excited to have Comprehensive Healthcare as our first partner in the state of Washington. Streamline’s goal is to provide industry leaders like Comprehensive Healthcare the tools they need to deliver a diverse set of services with innovation in the marketplace.” – Javed Husain, Co-Founder/Co-CEO, Streamline Healthcare Solutions.
