PENTAX Medical Receives Innovative Technology Designation from Vizient for the OPTIVISTA EPK-i7010 Video Processor

PENTAX Medical Company announced its OPTIVISTA EPK-i7010 Video Processor has received a 2017 Innovative Technology designation from Vizient, Inc., the largest member-driven healthcare performance improvement company in the country. The designation was based on direct feedback from hospital experts who interacted with the OPTIVISTA at the Vizient Innovative Technology Exchange in Denver on Sept. 14, 2017.

The OPTIVISTA offers physicians HD+ imaging with digital and optical-based electronic chromoendoscopy (PENTAX i-SCAN™ and OE Optical Enhancement technology). This unique enhancement expands applications to a broader range of clinical needs across detection, identification and confirmation during endoscopy.

“The OPTIVISTA provides a remarkable blend of advanced imaging features that combine to offer a clinically relevant solution,” stated Clark Barousse, President of PENTAX Medical, Americas. “The device paired with our i10 Series HD+ Endoscopes offers endoscopists an excellent level of visual clarity that may lead to improved detection, more efficient use of healthcare resources and highly informed treatment decisions, if treatment is necessary.”

“After reviewing feedback on the OPTIVISTA EPK-i7010 Video Processor at our Innovative Technology Exchange, members agreed this solution deserves the Innovative Technology designation status. The designation will be noted in our online member contract catalog. Congratulations to PENTAX Medical on receiving this status,” said Debbie Archer, director of procurement and Vizient Innovative Technology Program leader.

Vizient represents a diverse membership base that includes academic medical centers, pediatric facilities, community hospitals, integrated health delivery networks and non-acute healthcare providers and represents more than $100 billion in annual purchasing volume. Through its Innovative Technology Program, Vizient works with member-led councils and task forces to review potentially innovative products. If it is determined that a product is innovative, Vizient may award a contract outside of the competitive bid cycle.
