McLaren Health Plan Signs Agreement with Spectrum Health System

McLaren Health Plan announced that it has signed an agreement with Spectrum Health System that will bring new HMO, POS and Medicare options to the marketplace in West Michigan.  The arrangement adds Spectrum’s 12 hospitals and 1,400 providers to McLaren Health Plan’s network of over 44,000 providers.

“This expanded partnership with Spectrum Health allows McLaren Health Plan to better serve its local markets and provides more options for individuals and employer groups in West Michigan,” said Kathy Kendall, president and CEO of McLaren Health Plan.  “We are pleased that our members will have access to Spectrum Health’s leading health care providers and specialty services.”

With this new arrangement McLaren Health Plan will expand its presence and make available new commercial and Medicare options to the west side of the state by adding Kent, Ottawa, Barry, Mason, Newaygo and Mecosta counties to its current 39-county service area.

McLaren Health Plan and Spectrum Health have an existing agreement for Medicaid and Healthy Michigan members.  “We look forward to expanding our relationship with McLaren Health Plan and providing their members in our communities with access to Spectrum Health providers and services,” said Tina Freese-Decker, president, Spectrum Health Hospital Group.
